As part of KSFGC’s overall mission to strengthen the Kansas Forage Industry, the KSFGC Awards Program plays a key role by recognizing those individuals or groups providing leadership and making outstanding efforts, innovations and/or contributions to the Kansas Forage Industry.
“The awards program has been on a bit of a hiatus but we’re happy to get it back up and running,” said KSFGC Board member Walt Fick. “To have awards we need nominations; so, nominate who you think has done outstanding work related to forages and deserves recognition by KSFGC.”
Categories include: Outstanding Grassland/Hay Producer, Industry/Business, Research/Education, special awards are also available for young producers and innovators, and finally the Award of Excellence.
There will be an Awards Luncheon at the 2017 KSFGC annual meeting in Salina, which will be held in December. Award criteria, the nomination form and a list of past winners are posted on the KSFGC website. Please submit your nomination(s) by October 1, 2017 by mailing them to Walt Fick at the Department of Agronomy, 2004 Throckmorton Hall, 1712 Claflin Rd., Manhattan, KS 66506 or e-mailing him at whfick@ksu.edu.
