What assistance can NRCS offer?

Doug Spencer, Rangeland Management Specialist for NRCS, explains here!

And NRCS is at a site near you! There is an office located in each of the 105 counties in Kansas. You can find your local office here: https://offices.sc.egov.usda.gov/locator/app?state=KS. Technical experts are located at each county office and are familiar with that specific area and relevant rangeland management strategies. Specialists are located in each of the 4 area offices located around the state. Ecological site data, including soil data, is available for the entire state of Kansas. There are many tools that allow the public can access this data:

1. Web Soil Survey (Desktop): https://websoilsurvey.sc.egov.usda.gov

2. “Soil Web” (Mobile App):

3. “EDIT” (Ecosystem Dynamics Interpretive Tool): https://edit.jornada.nmsu.edu

NRCS would like to serve to help translate this ecological site data into useful information for producers and land owners. Technical experts and Specialists will meet YOU on the land in reflection of the NRCS mission: Helping people help the land.
