Participants will learn about how to manage their playas as part of a profitable operation, playa management considerations, and playa conservation programs that can help your bottom line, including the USDA CRP Migratory Birds, Butterflies and Pollinators SAFE program, which is available to landowners in western Kansas and the Oklahoma panhandle. There will also be opportunities to hear directly from landowners and producers about their experiences managing playas and have discussions with agency staff about the pros and cons of various playa conservation programs.
The two-day event will begin on Tuesday, January 10, from 1 to 5 p.m., followed by a social. The workshop will continue on Wednesday, January 11, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with lunch provided.
