Summer heat and continuing drought in the west are impacting alfalfa production throughout much of our Nation’s alfalfa production area. Heat stress on alfalfa typically causes yield reduction and some lowering of quality. While these are normal and to be expected, there are some management practices that can be considered during these summer heat stress periods.
