Changing Food Trends in Kansas Workshop in Salina, June 24

KGLC – Learning how to adapt to changing markets and how farmers and ranchers can better connect with consumers will be the topic of workshop at Martinelli’s Little Italy, in Salina, KS on June 24.

Registration begins at 9:30am, with the workshop running from 10:00am – 1:30pm.

Farmers and Ranchers can learn how to adapt to changing markets with Lance Zimmerman, of CattleFax and build strategies to sell local with Rick McNary, head of Shop Kansas Farms Facebook Group.

Lance Zimmerman coordinates CattleFax’s fundamental research and analysis for the cattle and competing protein markets. Bringing experience from growing up on a diversified crop and commercial cow-calf and backgrounding farm in northwest Kansas. He enjoys helping on the family farming operation, showing his children the world, hunting, and working on vehicle and home improvements projects.

Rick McNary connects you to the wonderful farm and ranch families of Kansas who grow the food we eat. Shop Kansas Farms on Facebook serves to give farmers an outlet to bring the farmers market into the digital age. In his presentation he’ll show how Kansas farmers and ranchers continue to thrive online.
