Alfalfa U Programs Offer Wealth of Information

Dodge City, KS – Learn the latest in producing high-quality alfalfa at Alfalfa U, Feb. 6 in Loveland, Colorado; Feb. 8 in Ogden, Utah; and Feb. 15 in Dodge City, Kansas.

Alfalfa U, sponsored by Alforex Seeds and John Deere, is a one-day session packed with agronomic and marketing information that is free to farmers. Speakers include university and private professionals focused on weed and insect management, ensuring high-quality hay, irrigation and water usage, testing procedures, marketing, and much more.

Attendees will hear from a panel of farmer growers who will share agronomic information and the procedures they use to produce high-quality alfalfa hay. Another panel discussion concluding the event will feature alfalfa end-users who will discuss the importance of producing quality hay, plus the characteristics they want to see in alfalfa they purchase for their businesses.

Each event begins with registration at 8:30 a.m., with the program beginning at 9 a.m. Alfalfa U is free to attend and includes a complimentary luncheon, courtesy of event sponsors Alforex, John Deere and High Plains Journal. Farmers are asked to register online at www.AlfalfaU.com.

Application has been made for continuing education credits and commercial pesticide application credits.
