December 9, 2014 the Kansas Forage and Grassland Council will hold its 2014 Winter Conference and Annual Meeting at Kansas Farm Bureau Headquarters, 2627 KFB Plaza, Manhattan, KS. Do not miss this opportunity to hear about new technologies and strategies in forage production and utilization presented by experts and specialists from all aspects of production.

Jim Robb, with the Livestock Marketing Information Center will provide the “2015 Alfalfa and Forage Outlook” and several breakout sessions provided by industry and university exports will also be available, including a Flint Hills Smoke Management Plan Update provided by KDHE.

Other breakout topics include: New Technologies in Alfalfa; Fall Control of Alfalfa Weevils; Strategies To Minimize Nitrate Toxicity in Forages; Summer Annuals Beef Rations; Grazing Management; Grazing Cover Crops; Hay Sales: Liabilities and Contracts; Hay Transportation Regulations; and Prescribed Burning in Kansas.

Registration begins at 8:15 a.m. with a Hay Buyer panel starting the day off at 9:15 a.m.
