This past week, demand was light, trade was slow, and prices were steady, on limited test. New crop pricing remains elusive, while new crop hay is ready to hit the ground in some locations and with the warmer temps and dryer conditions, producers will be getting after it. Grass hay still seems to be in abundance, while we have put a dent in old crop grinding alfalfa inventories. According to the U.S. Drought Monitor for the week of May 6th, the categorical percent area of abnormally dry conditions (D0) increased to 47%, Moderate drought (D1) fell to 32%, Severe drought (D2) increased to near 5%, and no Extreme drought (D3) or Exceptional drought (D4) was recorded.
Prices below reflect the average price. There could be prices higher and lower than those published. FULL REPORT
