The Deadline to Apply for 2024 Livestock Forage Disaster Program Assistance moved to March 1, 2025

To apply for the Livestock Forage Disaster Program (LFP), participants that suffered eligible grazing losses because of a qualifying drought or fire must complete CCC-853 and submit all required supporting documentation to the administrative County Office by the established deadline. The deadline to complete an LFP application has historically been 30 calendar days after the end of the calendar year in which the grazing loss occurred.

But a final rule was published on January 17, 2025, to amend the regulations in 7 CFR part 1416 to align emergency agricultural disaster assistance program deadlines to March 1 following of the year after the calendar year in which the grazing loss occurred.
