HERE IS YOUR KANSAS HAY MARKET REPORT FOR THE WEEK ENDING OCTOBER 19th

This past week, demand remained light, and trades fell off considerably while prices were steady on limited test. Producers have been busy in the fields with harvest or planting wheat. All of Kansas continues to be dry and rain is desperately needed. According to the U.A. Drought Monitor for October 15th, the dry pattern was sustained over the High Plains as warm temperatures continued with most areas 4-8 degrees above normal and even greater departures of 8-12 degrees above normal in the plains of Wyoming and Colorado and portions of western Nebraska and South Dakota. Degradation took place from North Dakota to Kansas, with Kansas expanding extreme drought in the far southeast. The categorical percent area of abnormally dry conditions (D0) was at 32%, Moderate drought (D1) 48%, Severe drought (D2) 15%, Extreme drought (D3) 1%, and no Exceptional drought (D4) was recorded. Prices below reflect the average price. There could be prices higher and lower than those published. FULL REPORT
