
KSFGC experts will be providing a Forage Update on the second morning of the Mid-America Farm Expo, Thursday, March 21, 2024, beginning at 9:00 am, in the upstairs section of the Tony’s Pizza Event Center in Salina. The expo doors open at 8:00 am, so come on the 21st and catch both great events!
The 9:00 am to noon session will provide five rapid fire presentations covering several topics of interest to central and north central Kansas farmers and ranchers, including:
- Hay Markets and Outlook
- Mitigating Woody Encroachment on Rangeland
- Old World Bluestem, An “Old World” Grass and a New Kansas Problem
- Non-traditional Forage Alternatives Providing Protein and Flexibility
- Annual Legumes as a Cover Crop and Forage
The presentations will be short and to the point but stay and visit with this crew of experts regarding any forage related questions you might have.
