Compared to the last report, demand and trade activity remains slow, prices were steady. Producers report hot and dry conditions across the state as many continue swathing and baling their 3rd cuttings. With well above normal temperatures for the week, eastern Kansas witnessed further degradations in drought conditions According to the U.S. Drought Monitor for August 29th, the categorical percent area for abnormally dry conditions (D0) decreased to 15%, moderate drought (D1) remained near 24%, severe drought (D2) slightly increased to 24%, extreme drought (D3) remained near 17%, and exceptional drought (D4) remained at 1%.
