All are invited to the Bressner Research Unit, with registration beginning at 9:30 AM and presentations following at 10:00 AM. The event is titled “Previous and Progress Proceedings” and encompasses the 32 years of research that has been conducted at the Bressner pasture. The morning sessions will highlight the historical work, while the afternoon sessions will focus on the “future”, or at least what can potentially be used to make pasture and cattle management decisions from a technology lens.

The field day will be held at the pasture (across the road from 1043 100th Rd, Yates Center). There will be several educational sessions located throughout the facility, including a walking tour of the pastures to illustrate the differences in the most recent research project that involved strategic timing of spring pasture burns. Lunch will be provided and is catered by the Yates Center school district with the FFA and FBLA chapters serving the meal.
The event is scheduled to end around 3 PM. We hope that you can attend the event. If you are able to attend please contact myself Jaymelynn Farney, Beef Systems Specialist, Kansas State University President, Bressner Pasture committee, jkj@ksu.edu, 620-820-6125, or register by August 30th to the Southwind Extension District – Woodson County Office (620) 625-8620. Registration guarantees you a lunch at the event. Also, if you are needing anything in order to attend the meeting (dietary considerations, accessibility, etc.) please contact either myself or the Woodson County Extension Office so that we may meet your needs.
