HERE IS YOUR KANSAS HAY MARKET REPORT FOR THE WEEK ENDING MAY 27TH

Hope you all had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend remembering our military and family. Compared to the last report demand remains good, trade activity remains slow, and prices remained mostly steady. New crop prices are starting to show up, a little later than usual, but they are there with not much difference from current ‘22 crop pricing. According to the U.S. Drought Monitor for May 23rd following the previous week’s substantial drought relief, mostly dry weather returned across the High Plains. However, locally heavy showers continued in parts of eastern Colorado and southern and western Kansas, leading to some additional reductions in the coverage of moderate to exceptional drought (D1 to D4). The categorical percent area for Abnormally dry conditions (D0) increased to near 8.5%, moderate drought (D1) remained at 10%, severe drought (D2) remained near 11%, extreme drought (D3) remained near 24%, and exceptional drought (D4) remained near 35.5%. ** Prices below reflect the average price. There could be prices higher and lower than those published. FULL REPORT
