The KSFGC has given Dr. Romulo Pisa Lollato, Assistant Professor, Wheat and Forages Extension Specialist with Kansas State the OK to develop a K-State publication/poster detailing alfalfa growth and development. A similar, a “wheat” poster sample can be found here: http://www.bookstore.ksre.ksu.edu/pubs/MF3300.pdf. The objective is to distribute these to county agents, crop consultants, coops, and producers, to allow them to more effectively communicate stage of growth information and better diagnose alfalfa crop problems and manage applications, etc.
KSFGC is now coordinating the funding of this project estimated to cost $1,250. We’re asking alfalfa-based individuals and business to assist by making a tax-deductible donation of $250 to the KSFGC specifically for the Alfalfa Growth and Development Poster. Payment can be made by check to the KSFGC and sent to 1228 Westloop Place, PMB #144, Manhattan, KS 66502-2840 or by credit card through PayPal here.
It will be 20 x 30” foldable poster. The upper left image is the “front page”, and the upper right development scale as the “back page” when the poster is folded. Estimated costs are roughly $1,250 for 2,000 printed copies. From these 2,000 printed copies, 120 are sent to county extension offices, about 380 are kept with K-State Extension and Dr. Lollato generally tries to keep about 800-1,000.
For your $250 tax-deductible donation, you or your business will both have your logo prominently displayed on the poster and receive 100 posters at no additional cost.
Leadership and financial assistance are vital for the Kansas Forage and Grassland Council to serve as an active advocate and to effectively provide the education and programs needed to strengthen the forage industry in Kansas. This webpage provides the opportunity to make a one-time donation via credit card to assist with a special KSFGC project that you have agreed to. We thank you for your support of the forage industry in Kansas.
